Daihatsu to Exhibit its Latest Mini Welfare Vehicles at Barrier Free 2017

Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Daihatsu”) will exhibit its mini welfare vehicles at Barrier Free 2017, the largest general welfare exhibition in western Japan. Barrier Free 2017, which proposes comfortable lifestyles for the elderly and the disabled, will be held from April 20 to 22 at INTEX OSAKA (Nanko-kita, Suminoe-ku, Osaka).

Daihatsu’s Friendship series features a rich line-up of six models that add outstanding welfare functions with high satisfaction ratings to two attractive base models: the Tanto, which combines a spacious interior with the Miracle Open Door for easy entering and exiting; and the Move, with its significantly enhanced basic performance. The highly regarded Friendship series boasts the largest1 share of the mini welfare vehicle market.

At this year’s Barrier Free exhibition, Daihatsu will exhibit and introduce the different functions and characteristics of a total of seven vehicles. These include the Tanto Sloper and Tanto Welcome Seat, both of which were equipped with the advanced safety equipment Smart Assist Ⅲ during their partial upgrades in November 2016. In addition, the Daihatsu booth has prepared a program that will provide visitors with hands-on experiences such as demonstrations involving actual vehicles, and physiotherapist-led cognitive function improvement exercises.
