Daihatsu to Exhibit at Kyoto Smart City Expo 2026 – Proposing the Use of Mobility Services and BEVs to Help Solve Regional Challenges –

Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Daihatsu”) will exhibit at Kyoto Smart City Expo 2026, an international event aimed at creating new innovations for smart cities. The event will be held at Keihanna Plaza in Seika Town, Kyoto Prefecture, from October 8 to 9, 2026.

At the venue, Daihatsu will introduce two services: the RAKUPITA SOGEI welfare and nursing care transportation management system, and GOISSHO, a welfare and nursing care shared pick-up/drop-off service. Both are designed to help ease the shortage of welfare and nursing care workers in local communities and to ensure that people who have difficulty getting around have access to transportation. Daihatsu will also exhibit the e-Atrai, a mini commercial battery electric vehicle (hereinafter “BEV”) van. In demonstrations, the vehicle’s external power supply function will be used to power communication devices and electrical appliances, showing how electrified vehicles can be useful in many everyday situations.

Over the years, Daihatsu has supported customers’ daily lives and work through its compact cars, based on its corporate philosophy of “staying close to our customers and enriching their lives.” Today, many communities face the same challenges: how to keep supporting everyday mobility, and how to prepare for emergencies such as disasters. To address these challenges, Daihatsu is advancing initiatives that go beyond vehicles themselves to include mobility services and ways of using vehicles. Daihatsu will continue to contribute to building sustainable communities where everyone can live and remain active with peace of mind.
