Welfare and Nursing Care shared pick-up/drop-off Service “Goissho” Begins Full-Scale Operations in Abeno Ward, Osaka City – Third Full-Scale Deployment of “Goissho” in Japan –

Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Daihatsu") announced that its welfare and nursing care shared pick-up/drop-off service, "Goissho," has officially commenced operations on August 1, 2026, among four nursing care facilities in the Abeno Ward area of Osaka City, led by the social welfare corporation Ikutokuen (Abeno Ward, Osaka City; hereinafter "Ikutokuen"). This marks the third full-scale deployment of the Goissho service in Japan, following implementations in Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture, and Yasu City, Shiga Prefecture.

The newly launched "Goissho Ikutoku" represents the first advanced operational model of Goissho, evolving from joint transportation within facilities operated by a single organization to a broader collaborative framework involving local nursing care providers. Ikutokuen has long utilized Daihatsu's transportation management system*1 to improve the efficiency of its transportation operations. In December 2024, Ikutokuen and Daihatsu began a pilot program for joint transportation between two facilities operated by Ikutokuen, verifying operational methods and safety management systems. Through these efforts, Ikutokuen accumulated operational know-how and expertise related to joint transportation and established a stable operational framework. Based on this experience, the initiative has now expanded to include facilities operated by other organizations in the surrounding area, leading to the launch of full-scale operations.

Under the Goissho Ikutoku program, Ikutokuen serves as the operating entity, providing joint transportation services among four facilities*2 operated by three different organizations. The program is expected to serve approximately 250 passenger trips per month and aims to improve vehicle and staff utilization while reducing the burden associated with transportation operations. By enabling local nursing care providers to take the lead and collaborate, the initiative helps address regional challenges such as shortages of care workers and securing transportation options for elderly residents. Looking ahead, the program will also explore collaboration with other community stakeholders to help establish a sustainable framework for delivering nursing care services.

Daihatsu will continue to contribute to local communities through services such as Goissho and work toward resolving regional challenges in the welfare and nursing care sector, while supporting the realization of a sustainable mobility society.
