Daihatsu to Exhibit an Array of Customized Cars at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026

Daihatsu Motor Co.,Ltd. (hereinafter "Daihatsu") announces that it will exhibit at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026 to be held at Makuhari Messe (Mihama Ward, Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture) from January 9 to 11, 2026. It will be exhibiting in the North Hall together with Toyota Motor Corporation and will unite as a Group company of the Toyota Group to make the event a success.

This exhibition features customized cars and motorsports vehicles that embody the "DAIHATSUMEI" concept. This concept is based on the communication words "DAIHATSUMEI for me. Because it's small, you can do it all—one small step at a time" and hopes to convey the ideas that Daihatsu products are "This is perfect for me" and "It will make life more fun."
For customized cars, Daihatsu will exhibit two kei commercial vehicles packed with excitement and surprises, as well as three kei passenger cars with different design directions.

➎ Tanto Custom KUROMEKI: Expressing a presence befitting the city night through the front face and other elements

The same exhibit will also be presented at Osaka Auto Messe 2026 to be held at INTEX Osaka (Suminoe Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture) from February 13 to 15.

  • Original front visor features a design embodying the company's long-cherished philosophy: "Staying close to our customers and enriching their lives"
  • Original seat deck carrier incorporates an illuminated Daihatsu logo
  • The luggage space includes a panel incorporating motifs of past HIJET models. It doubles as a ring toss target when lifted. Additionally, hand-drawn illustrations of the suction gas engine and the Midget express Daihatsu’s history.
  • The interior design incorporates motifs of past HIJET models, along with elements connected to Daihatsu and HIJET: the flower of Ikeda City, Osaka Prefecture, Tsutsuji, the wombat animal, and the flower of Nakatsu City, Oita Prefecture,Satsuki.
