Daihatsu to Conduct Demonstration Experiments for Goissho Shared Nursing Care Transportation Service in Two New Regions

Nov. 04, 2025
DAIHATSU MOTOR CO., LTD.

Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Daihatsu”) will start conducting demonstration experiments for the Goissho shared nursing care transportation service from November 4, 2025, in two regions: Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, and Tokai Village, Ibaraki Prefecture.

Daihatsu has been deploying the new mobility service Goissho in the area of welfare and nursing care to solve social issues such as the declining birthrate and aging population as well as contribute to regional revitalization. Goissho is a service that helps eliminate the shortage of care workers and secure mobility for the elderly by improving operational efficiency through outsourcing and the shared operation of transportation services at multiple day-care facilities. The service was launched for local governments nationwide in April 2022. It is currently in official operation in Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture, and Yasu City, Shiga Prefecture.

[About Demonstration Experiment in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture]

This demonstration experiment has been selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's pilot project to eliminate transportation gaps. It will be conducted from November 4, 2025, to November 28, 2025. Based on the theme of “Sharing Nursing Care Transportation Resources x Creating Outing Opportunities for Preventive Care,” multiple day-care facilities for the elderly will collaborate to improve efficiency through the shared operation of transportation services.
In addition, vehicles that are idle during the day will be used to support the elderly in going out. These outings will feature functional training and other events aimed at promoting health and preventing the need for long-term care. They will be planned in collaboration with Creative Service Kingdom Corporation, which has a proven track record in support services for the elderly. This initiative will help participants stay mentally and physically active by going out and interacting with others.
The Foundation for Kobe International Medical Alliance will serve as the managing organization during the demonstration period. Operations will be conducted in collaboration with local transportation providers. Daihatsu will help establish the operational framework by providing the operation management system, creating operational manuals, and coordinating with relevant stakeholders toward implementation. Three corporations and three facilities within the city will participate, providing morning and evening transportation with two vehicles. It is expected that a total of approximately 300 people will be transported.

[About Demonstration Experiment in Tokai Village, Ibaraki Prefecture]

Tokai Village, Ibaraki Prefecture, aims to expand mobility support services for the local elderly population in the future by operating shared transportation services designed to secure and retain personnel at day-care facilities. The village has been working with Daihatsu since May 2025 to consider introducing and operating the shared transportation service, and preparations for this demonstration experiment are now complete.
The demonstration experiment will be conducted from November 4 to November 28, 2025. Tokai Village will serve as the managing organization during the demonstration period, operating the service in collaboration with an association of local transportation operators. Daihatsu will support the demonstration experiment as a whole, including establishing the operational framework and providing operational support. Six corporations and six facilities within the village will participate. Four vehicles will provide morning and evening transportation services (with some daytime operation depending on the day of the week). It is expected that a total of approximately 850 people will be transported.

The demonstration experiments in both regions will verify the effectiveness of the shared transportation service tailored to the issues in each region as well as evaluate the operational framework and business viability. From there, considerations will proceed toward the official operation of the service.

Daihatsu will continue to help solve regional challenges in the area of welfare and nursing care and contribute to realizing a sustainable mobility society through the provision of services, such as Goissho, that contribute to local communities.
