Daihatsu would like to express our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives in the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake and our heartfelt sympathy to everyone affected by the disaster.
Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. will undertake the following initiatives to support the affected areas.
In cooperation with Daihatsu Kyushu Co., Ltd., KUMAMOTO DAIHATSU CORPORATION, and other Daihatsu Group companies, Daihatsu will provide community-based support that addresses the needs and concerns of people in the affected areas.
In addition to support through disaster relief volunteer activities, Daihatsu will provide ten vehicles for use in recovery activities by municipalities and other organizations in the affected areas. These vehicles include the Hijet Truck, a light commercial vehicle well suited for mobility on narrow roads, and the Hijet FRP Refrigerated Truck*1, which can be used to transport cold drinking water and other supplies, as well as serve as a temporary rest area to help prevent heat-related illnesses among people in the affected areas.
Daihatsu will make a donation of five million yen to the non-profit organization Japan Platform.
Daihatsu will continue to provide support tailored to local needs while carefully monitoring conditions in the affected areas and consulting with government agencies, municipalities, and support organizations.
We sincerely hope for the swift recovery of the affected areas.
*1: The vehicle is primarily designed for transporting supplies. When used in the affected areas, it will be utilized under the direction of the administrators, with due consideration for safety.
