Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Daihatsu") will launch a partially improved version of its mini vehicle Taft, along with newly added special edition models, at dealerships nationwide on Wednesday, July 15.

Developed under the concept of "Tough & Almighty Fun Tool" Taft has been well received by a wide range of customers as a reliable companion that makes everyday life and leisure activities more enjoyable. In this latest update, Daihatsu has further strengthened the vehicle's outdoor and recreational appeal by introducing two special editions, "Rugged Venture" and "Active Mode" expanding the lineup to better suit customers with active lifestyles.

The Rugged Venture features exclusive hood and backdoor garnishes, along with gunmetal-colored interior accents, enhancing both its tough, powerful appearance and practicality. The Active Mode, on the other hand, comes equipped with aluminum wheels and exclusive, black-themed accents that emphasize its distinctive presence. Furthermore, by combining the Active Mode with the "Active Mode Plan" a dealer-installed option package featuring exclusive items such as side decals with orange accents, customers can create the newly developed "Active Mode Style". This new styling concept delivers an even more active, adventurous, and exciting character.

The partial improvements also include the addition of a new body color, Spark Orange, as well as a luggage under-box and an updated Active Multi-Information Meter, enhancing overall convenience and usability. In addition, Daihatsu has improved safety by upgrading its Smart Assist preventive safety system^※1 with new functions capable of detecting crossing bicycles, oncoming vehicles when turning right at intersections, and pedestrians crossing while the vehicle is turning right or left. These enhancements make the Taft an even more enjoyable and dependable vehicle for a wide variety of situations, from everyday driving to outdoor adventures.

– Increased the maximum operating speed for pedestrian detection from 60 km/h to 80 km/h

Enhanced the performance of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Keep Control (LKC):

– ACC provides smoother operation by enhancing the detection range and accuracy of preceding vehicles.

– Reduced vehicle wandering during LKC operation, enhancing driver confidence and reassurance
