Daihatsu Launches New B-Segment Compact SUV in Malaysia - Adopting DNGA platform and achieving SUV-like powerful styling and premium feel -

Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Daihatsu”) has announced that Perodua, a joint venture company in Selangor, Malaysia which manufactures and sells automobiles, launched the new B-segment five-seat compact SUV “TRAZ” on December 17, 2025.

The TRAZ adopts the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) B-segment platform shared with the compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) Alza, which was completely redesigned in July 2022. This platform delivers a spacious and easy-to-use interior and loading capacity that can accommodate a variety of cargo. It also achieves a comfortable ride, excellent quietness, outstanding fuel efficiency, and powerful driving performance.
The interior and exterior design embodies a sporty style unique to Malaysia, achieving SUV-like powerful styling and a premium feel. It features equipment designed for comfort and ease of use, while maintaining an affordable price appropriate for a national car. In terms of safety performance, it has received the highest rating of 5 stars in the ASEAN NCAP*1 safety assessment. Furthermore it incorporates comprehensive advanced features such as crash avoidance and driving assistance systems to prevent accidents, meeting customer demands for safety and security.

Established in 1993 through a partnership with Daihatsu, Perodua is Malaysia’s second national car manufacturer. Focusing on compact cars, it has secured the largest share of the Malaysian automobile market for 19 years in a row from 2006 to 2024, selling a record 358,000 units in 2024. Perodua has been working to update its lineup to DNGA models, starting with the compact SUV ATIVA launched in March 2021. The new TRAZ is the fourth DNGA-based product launched in Malaysia, following the ALZA launched in July 2022 and the compact passenger vehicle AXIA launched in February 2023.

Going forward, through deploying DNGA-based products to countries centered on the ASEAN region, Daihatsu will continue to aim to be a company that stays close to the lives of its customers by contributing to the development of industry and human resources as well as the promotion of automobiles in each region.
