Regarding Being Named by the Japan Fair Trade Commission

In accordance with Article 43 of the Act on Prohibition of Private Monopolization and Maintenance of Fair Trade, Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. has been named by the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) as an enterprise that has been engaged in acts that constitute leaving the transaction price unchanged without explicitly discussing the necessity of reflecting increases in labor costs, raw material prices, energy costs, and other costs in the transaction price at the time of price negotiation.
This announcement by the JFTC does not constitute recognition of any violation or potential violation of the Act on Prohibition of Private Monopolization and Maintenance of Fair Trade or the Act against Delay in Payment of Subcontract Proceeds, etc. to Subcontractors.

We have continually engaged in close communication with our business partners regarding transaction prices and other matters to date. We take this announcement by the JFTC very seriously. Going forward, we will more proactively create opportunities to communicate with our business partners regarding the necessity of reflecting increases in labor costs, raw material prices, energy costs, and other costs in our transaction prices. We will also sincerely address the concerns of each business partner as we aim to establish a system that enables mutual trust and sustainable growth.

We apologize for the further concern caused by this announcement despite the inconvenience we are causing to our business partners due to the shipment suspensions associated with procedural irregularities in certification processes. We will continue to carefully communicate with business partners who are being inconvenienced by the shipment suspensions.
