Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Daihatsu”) has partially redesigned its Tanto and Mira e:S mini passenger vehicles, and its Tanto Sloper (wheelchair accessible vehicle), Tanto Welcome Seat Lift, and Tanto Welcome Turn Seat mini welfare vehicles. The updated models will go on sale nationwide on December 1.
The first*1 mini vehicle to be equipped with the Miracle Open Door with built-in pillar, and featuring Power Sliding Doors on both sides of the vehicle, the Tanto has been highly regarded by customers since its launch in 2003. The current, fourth-generation Tanto was launched in July 2019 as part one of the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA), the company’s next-generation approach to creating cars. It is a high-quality, affordably priced vehicle that caters to the needs of customers of all ages. The model is equipped with a full range of advanced safety equipment, including Next-Generation Smart Assist*2; indeed, every aspect of the Tanto has evolved significantly, both from a functional and performance perspective.
The Mira e:S was launched in September 2011 as the “third eco-friendly car,” and with its exceptional fuel efficiency*3, affordable pricing*4 , and conservation of natural resources, it has found favor with customers of all ages. The current, second-generation Mira e:S was launched in 2017, and is equipped with Smart Assist III for improved safety and security.
For the present partial redesigns, Daihatsu has added a new “Style Selection” grade for the Tanto Custom—including the Tanto Custom welfare models—which is characterized by a dynamic, plated frontal appearance. The Tanto—including the Tanto welfare models—is now available in four two-tone colors, for a richer selection of color variations. Just like the TAFT that launched in June this year, Smart Assist has also been updated with the latest preventative safety features, and now includes nighttime pedestrian detection and lane departure alert functions. Regarding the Friendship series of welfare vehicles, Daihatsu has both enhanced its standard equipment and ensured they are priced affordably. All grades of the Mira e:S are now equipped as standard with automatic lights for improved safety.
Based on its “Light you up” approach, going forward Daihatsu will continue to provide optimal mobility to every one of its customers, and cater to their needs via its extended range of mini vehicles and compact cars.
