Daihatsu Adds Affordable Special Edition Models to its Boon and Thor Compact Passenger Car Line-Up

Daihatsu Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Daihatsu”) announced that it will release special edition models of its Boon and Thor compact passenger cars. The new models will go on sale nationwide on October 1.

The Boon is a compact car that draws on the technologies and knowhow acquired by Daihatsu through its development of mini vehicles. The first-generation Boon was launched in 2004; the current, thirdgeneration model was released in 2016; the Boon STYLE—a new model characterized by its cute, rounded design—went on sale in 2018.

The two special edition models —Style “White Limited SA III” and Style “Black Limited SA III”—expand customer choice by offering Two-Tone color schemes with either a White or Black roof, which previously had only been available with the Boon CILQ. The interior and exterior decor of the two models have also been modified to suit the new roof colors, while the Panorama Monitor*1, LED fog lights, and Super Ultraviolet & Infrared Ray Reducing Glass*2 are specially equipped as standard.

Launched in November 2016, the Thor was designed around the theme of “connecting with the family,” and developed to ideally suit the daily lives of families with small children.

Two new special edition models have now been announced for the Thor: the G “Limited II SA III” and the Custom G “Limited II SA III.” Previous limited edition models were equipped with the Panorama Monitor*1, Comfortable Pack, and customized interior decorations; the new special edition models also come with Top-Shade glass and plated outer door handles as standard. In addition, the G “Limited II SA III” features LED headlamps and is offered in Two-Tone color schemes*3 usually only available on Custom models, so enhancing its sense of quality.

The new Boon and Thor special edition models are extremely attractively priced, and their addition to Daihatsu’s compact car line-up is intended to expand customer choice.

Based on its “Light you up” approach, going forward Daihatsu will continue to provide optimal mobility to every one of its customers, and cater to their needs via its extended range of mini vehicles and compact cars.
