Hijet Truck Extra

Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Daihatsu”) has partially upgraded the Hijet Truck and will launch it nationwide on March 19.

The Hijet series has been a long-selling series since its debut in 1960 as Daihatsu’s first kei-four-wheeled vehicle, constantly pursuing customer needs and evolving with the times. In particular, the Hijet Truck has served as a “working partner” for customers across a wide range of industries, particularly in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, earning widespread use throughout Japan. Its cumulative production has exceeded 4.85 million units*1.

This partial upgrade enhances safety by adding new detection functions to the Smart Assist*2 active safety system: detection of bicycles crossing the road, vehicles in the oncoming lane during right turns at intersections, and pedestrians crossing from the opposite side during turns. Additionally, convenience has been improved by making LED headlights, adaptive driving beam (ADB), and side view lamps standard equipment on the Extra grade.

*1 As of March 2026, according to research conducted by Daihatsu.

*2 Smart Assist is designed to assist the driver, but its functions are limited. Depending on road conditions, weather, and other factors, the system may not activate. Do not rely solely on the system; always drive safely. For details, please consult your sales company or the official website.

Daihatsu will continue to provide high-quality and affordable products that stay close to the lives of customers.
