Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Daihatsu”) will exhibit its mini welfare vehicles at Barrier Free 2018, the largest general welfare exhibition in western Japan. Barrier Free 2017, which proposes comfortable lifestyles for the elderly and the disabled, will be held from April 19 to 21 at INTEX OSAKA (Nanko-kita, Suminoe-ku, Osaka).
In addition to the attractions of the base models, Daihatsu’s Friendship series has outstanding welfare functions that have elicited high satisfaction ratings. Featuring a rich line-up of six models, the Friendship series has garnered widespread acclaim, and boasts the largest share of the mini welfare vehicle market in Japan1.
At this year’s Barrier Free exhibition, Daihatsu will exhibit a total of seven mini welfare vehicles. The company also plans to hold demonstrations that enable visitors to experience at first-hand the convenience of Daihatsu’s Friendship series and the ease with which they allow assistance to be provided. Daihatsu is implementing Healthy and Safety Driving Courses nationwide as part of its KOTODUKURI activities aimed at providing support for the independent living of the elderly; the company has prepared a program for visitors to experience part of these courses in its booth, just as it did last year.
At this year’s exhibition, Daihatsu will exhibit jointly with Toyota Motor Corporation. Consequently, Daihatsu and Toyota will introduce its rich line-up of welfare vehicles, from mini vehicles by Daihatsu to heavy vehicles by Toyota, introduced as the Toyota group, in cooperation with the Toyota Motor Corp.
