Move Canbus G “Make up SAⅢ”

Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. has partially upgraded the Move Canbus mini passenger vehicle and will release it nationwide on Monday, September 11.

The Move Canbus mini passenger vehicle was first launched in September 2016. In recognition of recent behavioral trends among women, it was designed and developed to target women who make minor lifestyle changes as a means of enhancing enjoyment.

Over the last few years, there has also been an increase in the number of women who live with their parents, and there is a growing tendency for car use to be shared among such households. Having noted such trends, Daihatsu aimed to develop a mini vehicle that was easy to use for people of all generations. The unique design and two-tone colors of the Move Canbus have been widely praised, along with its highly convenient packaging and sliding doors. As a result, in the year or so since its launch, total sales have exceeded 80,000 vehicles*1.

The current partial upgrade sees the addition*2 of the collision avoidance system, Smart Assist Ⅲ, which also detects and engages emergency braking for pedestrians. The Move Canbus supports driving and parking through Smart Assist Ⅲ and the existing Panorama Monitor*3, and has evolved into a vehicle that provides even greater safety and peace of mind than ever before.

In recent years, there has been an increasing emphasis on safety equipment. In December 2012, Smart Assist became the first collision avoidance system to be featured on a mini vehicle*4. Since then, it has been requested by a large number of customers and equipped to a total of more than 1.4 million vehicles*1. Already equipped on the Tanto, Mira e:S and Move, the Move Canbus is the fourth model to feature the most recent edition of the system, Smart Assist Ⅲ. Going forward, Daihatsu intends to roll out the cutting-edge Smart Assist Ⅲ to even more models, and thereby continue to support the safety and the mobility lives of its customers.
