Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, “Daihatsu”) will launch the partially redesigned Move mini passenger vehicle and Move Front Seat Lift mini welfare vehicle nationwide on August 1.
The Move was released in 1995 as Daihatsu’s first spacious mini vehicle. It was favorably received by a large number of customers of all ages, and is one of the company’s core models. When it underwent a partial redesign in December 2012, the Move became the first mini vehicle*1 to feature the Smart Assist collision avoidance system. The current, sixth-generation model, which was released in December 2014, was the first vehicle to be equipped with Daihatsu’s unique D Monocoque lightweight high-rigidity body, and realizes outstanding fuel efficiency and basic performance.
The new Move and Move Front Seat Lift models are equipped*2 with Smart Assist Ⅲ, which provides emergency braking in response to pedestrians. The models also feature*3 Panorama Monitor, which uses four cameras to capture images of the front, rear, left and right sides of the vehicle, and so projects a top-down-like view of the vehicle onto the navigation screen. While providing improved safety functions, the price of the new Move in particular has been adjusted, resulting in an even more affordable vehicle.
The Move and Move Custom also possess updated interior and exterior designs. The Move realizes a simple yet high-quality exterior with a new plated front grille. The Move Custom comes with newly developed thin, multi-light LED headlamps as well as rear combination lamps utilizing clear inner lenses in its advanced, high-quality exterior, while a newly designed instrument panel garnish contributes to a luxurious interior. Rear-seat slide levers have been installed on the luggage side of the rear seats for increased convenience.
The Move Front Seat Lift mini welfare vehicle has also been partially redesigned. In line with the Move and Move Custom, the Move Front Seat Lift also features improves safety functions and a more attractive interior and exterior design.
