Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (“Daihatsu”) is pleased to announce the nationwide launch of partially improved models of its mini passenger vehicle CAST and Special edition models on June 20, 2016.

Launched in September 2015, CAST is a series of mini vehicles Daihatsu developed to meet the demands of users who value individuality. The result was a mini car based on key concept of supplying people with options to freshen up their lives. CAST models feature high quality with inviting and universally appealing design. In addition, Daihatsu successfully achieved affordable pricing by developing three CAST models—ACTIVA, STYLE, and SPORT—to meet the diversifying needs of users.

With the latest improvements, Daihatsu increased the number of interior and exterior color variations, one of the features that have made the CAST series popular, and has made changes to make the models more attractive. In addition, Daihatsu has created Special edition models of ACTIVA and STYLE versions, called the PRIME COLLECTION, with faux leather seats to generate a touch of high class.

<Additions to interior and exterior color variations>

CAST STYLE

  • Adopted hairline/silver, a newly developed silver color, which earned positive reviews at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show when it was featured in an unofficially exhibited model, as the color of the design film top*1. In addition, increased the number of two-tone color combinations from one to three, adding the selection of carbon/wine red.
  • Added four new colors – pink, navy blue, black, and white – to the previously offered selections of interior accent colors of silver, burgundy, and light brown, allowing users to choose an interior color that goes well with the color of outer panels.

*1. The design film top refers to D-wrapping, an original wrapping method Daihatsu adopted for roofs, roof-side sections, and rear spoilers.

CAST ACTIVA

  • Established carbon/ black as a design film top color, increasing the choices of two-tone colors to two.
  • Added four new colors – red, navy blue, black, and white – to the previously offered selections of interior accent colors of silver, blue, and orange, allowing users to choose an interior color that goes well with the color of outer panels.
  • Added bright silver metallic to the selection of colors for outer panels.

CAST SPORT

  • Established a manufacturer’s option for changing the color of door mirrors and rear quarter pillarpanels from the standard choice of red, the designated color for the design film top, to black.

<Equipment enhancement>

  • Enhanced running performance by setting the minimum ground clearance for four-wheel drive vehicles at 180 millimeters for CAST ACTIVA and at 150 millimeters for CAST STYLE and CAST SPORT.
  • Added passenger seat heater*2.

*2. The passenger seat heater is standard equipment on CAST SPORT and the PRIME COLLECTION Special edition models. It is set in the Warm Pack, a manufacturer’s option.
