DAIHATSU MOTOR CO., LTD. (Daihatsu) announced that it will mark the 100th anniversary of its establishment on March 1, 2007. To mark this milestone, Daihatsu will conduct a variety of activities with gratitude as the theme for the previous 100 years and a new resolve as the theme for the next 100 years.
Daihatsu was established in Osaka in 1907 as a manufacturing company with the intention of bringing the production of internal combustion engines to Japan. Since then, Daihatsu has manufactured and sold automobiles and engines, gaining the support of many customers worldwide.
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of its foundation, Daihatsu has planned a range of activities, including the adoption of new corporate philosophy, vision, and a new corporate slogan, the opening of a museum to exhibit historical materials, and publication of a corporate history book. Daihatsu will also adopt a commemorative logo. Details of the main activities can be found below.
Daihatsu remains dedicated to engaging in corporate activities with the other members of its corporate group that achieve ever higher levels of customer satisfaction.
Effective March 2007, Daihatsu will adopt a new corporate philosophy and vision and corporate slogan, under the theme of "a new resolve," to express its commitment to achieving even greater success in the coming 100 years. (Further details will be announced on March 1, 2007.)
In May 2007, Daihatsu will open a facility where people can learn while having fun with a focus on hands-on displays under the themes of "people-friendly" and "earth-friendly" automobile manufacturing. Daihatsu will adopt a 100th anniversary commemorative logo for use at commemorative events and in advertising to express its gratitude to customers.
