DAIHATSU MOTOR CO., LTD.
Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Daihatsu”) redesigned its uniforms for the first time in 25 years on April 1, 2026.
In response to recent changes in the working environment, our goal was to create uniforms that inspire everyone at Daihatsu to work with energy and pride every day. These new uniforms achieve a perfect balance between stylish design, comfort, and functionality. We also paid meticulous attention to material details—conducting rigorous cut-resistance and heat-resistance testing—to ensure safety and peace of mind, even for staff using various tools on-site.
The design is based on black with horizontal red lines. When colleagues stand side-by-side, these red lines connect to symbolize our bonds, unity, and "One Team" spirit. To counteract the heat, we implemented features such as a dual-layer structure on the back to enhance breathability, while for the winter season, we adopted materials that retain warmth without becoming stuffy. Furthermore, we pursued ultimate comfort through the use of stretchable fabric and incorporated numerous hidden pockets for added practicality. We have also expanded the variety of our lineup to include new items such as summer jackets, trousers, and short-sleeved polo shirts, ensuring that everyone can work comfortably according to the season and specific work conditions.
For this renewal, we conducted a vote among all people working at Daihatsu from multiple design candidates and adopted the design that received the most votes. On April 1, we began distributing the uniforms to our staff, and at the entrance ceremony held on the same day, all approximately 300 new employees wore the renewed uniforms as they took their first steps forward.
Under the corporate philosophy “Staying close to our customers and enriching their lives,” Daihatsu aims to create a comfortable working environment for employees and realize a mobility society that enriches the lives of customers, advancing initiatives through a dual approach that combines MONODUKURI and KOTODUKURI.
