Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd.
Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Daihatsu”) will begin providing its Tanto and Move Canbus mini passenger vehicles and Rocky compact SUV as part of the Daihatsu Tatsunoko Family Car Provision Scheme on April 1, 2021.
Ryuoh Town, in Shiga Prefecture’s Gamo County, is introducing the scheme as part of an initiative to encourage inhabitants to experience the joy of living with children. Daihatsu will take part in the scheme in support of regional revitalization of Ryuoh Town, where its Shiga Plant produces the Tanto, Move Canbus, and Rocky models.
Daihatsu will provide new cars equipped with the Smart Assist active safety system so that families with young children can drive in safety and with peace of mind. The cars will also feature car navigation systems, dashboard cameras, and Electronic Toll Collection (ETC).
The Daihatsu Tatsunoko Family Car Provision Scheme is open to families living in Ryuoh Town, who have given birth to two or more children and who fulfill the criteria outlined below. The scheme enables eligible families to rent a car free of charge for three years under a free lease contract.
Users will be responsible for payment of voluntary insurance, costs associated with parking space certificates, and costs associated with running and maintaining the car, including gasoline and parking spaces; Daihatsu will be responsible for payment of lease fees, costs associated with new vehicle registration—including automobile tax, mini vehicle tax, vehicle weight tax, and environmental performance-based tax, compulsory insurance, and costs associated with delivering the vehicle.
Based on its “Light you up” approach, going forward Daihatsu will continue to provide optimal mobility to every one of its customers, and will seek to become a company that actively contributes to local communities.
