The 71st Geneva International Motor Show

Feb. 27, 2001

The annual Geneva International Motor Show took place at the Palexpo from 27th February to 11th March, with the 27th and 28th reserved for Press Days.

As usual, the 93,000-square-meter show space was packed with exhibits. Some 300 companies took part, including auto makers and manufacturers of parts, accessories and other related products. Attendance was around 718,000, bettering last year's mark.

Daihatsu exhibited a total of 13 vehicles, led by two concept cars — the YRV Turbo and Move EV-H II — that represent the cutting-edge of the company's advanced compact car technology. They were joined by 11 vehicles of seven models, including the Sirion and Terios, and a cut-away model of a YRV Turbo engine.
