Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (“Daihatsu”) will partially upgrade and release the COPEN, a mini convertible sports vehicle, nationwide on Monday, April 4.

The new COPEN was realized by utilizing the new D-FRAME framework structure and DRESS-FORMATION, which is a changeable interior and exterior structure, to deliver impressive driving performance and serve to help express one’s individuality. The first design, the COPEN Robe, was released in June 2014 followed by the second and third designs, the COPEN XPLAY and the COPEN Cero. In a move that is proving positive with customers across the board, DRESS parts were launched in last October, offering customers an option to adapt the design of their car to their tastes even after purchase.

As a new design offer with DRESS-FORMATION, the upgrade equips Color Formation Type A, a manufacturer’s option*1 characterized by color-coded resin outer panel parts for a unique appearance, in the Robe and the Robe S. Furthermore, increased design choices for the 16-inch aluminum wheels and interior colors add more to the fun of choosing, and enable drivers to better express themselves through the car.

As standard, the upgraded version is equipped with multi-reflector halogen fog lamps, a steering switch and instrument panel audio cluster, and features improvements in marketability and texture by standardizing the basic colors of the interior instrument panel and trim to black.

2) As a manufacturer’s option*2, the 16-inch aluminum wheel designed for the Robe/Cero is equipped in the XPLAY, and the 16-inch aluminum wheel designed for the XPLAY is equipped in the Robe/Cero.

3) All Robe/Cero/XPLAY vehicles are equipped with a Black Interior Pack, Beige Interior Pack or Red Interior Pack as a manufacturer’s option*2.

4) Liquid silver metallic, which was exclusively used in the Robe, is added to the Cero.

5) Multi-reflector halogen fog lamps are equipped in Robe/XPLAY/Cero cars as standard.

6) The upgrade pack for genuine navigation and audio equipment (steering switch and instrument panel’s audio cluster) comes as standard.

7) The basic color of the interior instrument panel and trim is standardized to black for all vehicles.
