On June 5, the New Move Press Conference was held at the Tokyo International Forum.
Even employees rarely get the opportunity to see this splendid stage in person.
Behind the scenes, there were many people involved who worked together to pour their passion into the event, despite the tension and hardships.
For this feature, Naoki Chiken from the Inner Communication Group visited the site to experience the atmosphere there and interview everyone involved in the development of the Move.

Upon entering the venue, visitors were greeted by all the previous Move models (first through sixth generations), and in the back, the new Move appeared majestically under a spotlight.

“Get your heart moving once again—Move on”

As suggested by this slogan, the Move has further evolved as a car that will move customers’ hearts.
At the same time, the unveiling of the new Move will be an opportunity to leave a powerful impression of Daihatsu’s current energetic stance.

Chief Engineer Hiroyuki Tokura, President Masahiro Inoue, and Sales & Customer Service Group Chief Officer Akio Fukuda took the stage.
They talked about the appeal of products and the background of their development. During the Q&A session, it was impressive to see how they answered questions from the press with sincerity and confidence.

However, there is more to the story…

Under a tense atmosphere, engineering/design, styling, development, purchasing, production, advertising, sales, public relations, and many other departments within the company, as well as many “Partners,” including Daihatsu Group companies, worked together to prepare for the event.

There was a fervent passion behind the event, having overcome numerous difficulties and meticulous details, as well as having pulled through while keeping in mind the colleagues and other “Partners” who could not be at the venue on the day of the event.
