Hello, I’m Kaoru Mitsui from the Inner Communication Group.
My duty is to promote our corporate philosophy throughout Daihatsu.

Some of you might be thinking,
“′Corporate philosophy′ sounds kind of rigid.”

Well, not at all! The corporate philosophy promotion activities we’re conducting at Daihatsu bring smiles to everyone’s faces all day long!

Are you a little more curious now? Be sure to read all the way to the end!

What is Daihatsu’s corporate philosophy?

Here is Daihatsu’s corporate philosophy.

Does it still sound quite rigid? Well, let me explain it a little!

In September 2024, Daihatsu simply consolidated its corporate philosophy as the “Mission” the company must fulfill and the “Values” each of us wishes to hold dear.

It’s been one year since we announced this Daihatsu corporate philosophy. I’d be very happy if everyone could keep it mind, even just a little, as you go about your work.

Corporate Philosophy “Tsunagaru” Workshop

Daihatsu’s corporate philosophy is an extension of your own passions.

Therefore, in our “Corporate Philosophy Tsunagaru Workshop,” which is part of our promotion activities, we asked participants to write down what passions they value in their everyday work. We then carried out group work where everyone collectively identified how these passions connected to the philosophy. We believe that becoming more familiar with the corporate philosophy is the starting point.

I’d like to give you a sense of the atmosphere through a short video.
Daihatsu President Masahiro Inoue and Executive Vice President Masanori Kuwata will also make an appearance.

Team Daihatsu’s Motto

What connections are our “Partners” discovering in the workshop?
Let’s hear from those who have actually participated.

[ Becoming Much More Familiar with the Corporate Philosophy]

- How did you find the experience?

I thought I understood the corporate philosophy, but I felt uneasy about the gap between it and my own thinking.
Participating in the workshop made the corporate philosophy feel much more familiar, and I think I gained clarity on what I should keep in mind moving forward.

- Is there anything you’d like to share with everyone?

While each of us has different values and backgrounds, I felt this workshop offered insights into how we can align our efforts toward a common goal.
I hope that the ideas each of us has paused to consider will be applied to our daily work, ultimately contributing to Daihatsu’s future growth and profitability.

- What stood out to you most about the workshop?

I resonated with the positioning of our corporate philosophy as “a splint for people’s growth.”
While keeping an eye on the future vision and the company’s direction, we are gradually realizing our own passions.
It really clicked for me that the corporate philosophy is something that supports that journey.

- What do you expect from the corporate philosophy?

If our passions are connected through the corporate philosophy, each of our individual values will feel more aligned, and we will be able to recognize what should be done and what we need to do now.
Then, collaborating with each other, we can conquer a great mountain. I hope this sense of unity will be fostered.

[Realizing Everyone’s Passion for a Brighter Future]

- Did anything become clearer to you through the workshop?

Through car manufacturing, I strongly believe we must think about our customers to truly stay close to them and enrich their lives.
Moreover, if our “Partners” are struggling, we can never create anything truly good. That’s why I expressed my passion in these words: To build a plant overflowing with smiles, prioritizing everyone’s happiness in all our actions.”

- Has your passion grown stronger?

My passion to build a brighter future together—one where each plant worker can realize what they hold most dear—has grown stronger. I want our philosophy of staying close to customers to be a driving force that empowers each employee’s thoughts and actions.

At Daihatsu’s corporate philosophy workshops, we not only witness lively conversations and smiles all around, but we also see each individual’s passion grow stronger and new insights emerge!

By making our corporate philosophy our motto, we can become an even stronger “One Team”!
Stay tuned for what’s next at Daihatsu!
