Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (“Daihatsu”) will release the COPEN Cero S, a luxury-grade version of the mini convertible sports vehicle COPEN Cero, nationwide on December 24.

The new COPEN was realized by utilizing the new D-FRAME framework structure and DRESS-FORMATION, which is a changeable interior and exterior structure, to deliver impressive driving performance and serve to help express one’s individuality. The first design, the COPEN Robe, was released on June 19, 2014. The second design, the COPEN XPLAY, and The third design, the COPEN Cero, was released. In a move that is proving positive with customers across the board, there will also be an option for customers to vary the design and color of their car to suit their tastes after purchase, thanks to the availability of DRESS parts for sale.
The COPEN Cero is proving particularly popular, accounting for 50% of COPEN sales*1, due to its exterior design, which creates with a sense of unity reminiscent of flowing drops, based on the concept of “fusing familiarity with dynamism.”

The newly launched COPEN Cero S utilizes shock absorbers exclusively designed by Bilstein, which have been a hit with the COPEN Robe S and COPEN XPLAY S thanks to their handling stability and steady, comfortable drive. It also boasts all the fittings of a sports premium brand, including RECARO seats made of suede-like material, with an emphasis on tactile sensation and design, a leather-wrapped steering wheel by MOMO, and a paddle shifter*2 to allow shifting that feels like driving in manual mode. It delivers a genuine feel of joy from driving a car. The Red Interior Pack*3 meanwhile includes exclusive RECARO seats (red) to make the car even more distinctive.

The model will be displayed at the Daihatsu booth at Tokyo Auto Salon 2016, to be held from January 15 (Fri.) through January 17 (Sun.) at Makuhari Messe (Chiba, Chiba prefecture).
