Daihatsu's Mini Commercial Vehicle, the Hijet Cargo Hybrid, Receives the ECCJ Chairman's Award in the 2005 Energy Conservation Grand Prize in Japan
Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (Daihatsu) announced that the Hijet Cargo Hybrid, a mini commercial vehicle it launched in Japan in September 2005 has received the Chairman's Award in the 2005 Energy Conservation Grand Prize from the Energy Conservation Center, Japan (ECCJ). The Hijet Cargo Hybrid's excellent environmental performance and high level of utility, exemplified by fuel efficiency of 20km per liter (in the 10-15 Japanese test cycle, measured by the Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Transport), were highly appraised.

Energy Conservation Grand Prize
The Energy Conservation Center, Japan was established with the objective of promoting the efficient use of energy, helping protect against global warming, and ensuring sustainable development.
