Rear space maintenance warning system
(a world first)
A CCD camera is used to detect if the following vehicle is
too close. When this happens, the hazard lights are flashed
to warn the driver of the following vehicle. The CCD camera
is a twin-lens stereo type, which has the advantage of being
less affected by the material or reflectivity of the
following car, compared to active systems such as radar.
