ITS technologies for advanced, preventive safety for small cars

Because of the many problems facing the global environment, research and development relating to clean energy vehicles is critically important. In terms of cost and driving distance, however, many tough issues remain to be resolved, including that of the building of infrastructures. Daihatsu has an extensive program of R&D on clean energy vehicles, and at the same time continues to focus on maximizing the efficiency of today's gasoline and diesel engines as part of an ongoing endeavor to lower fuel consumption and protect the environment.

An outline of the DAIHATSU ASV-2 systems
This is a three-liter car with a new two-cycle direct injection diesel engine.

This three-liter car was manufactured by Daihatsu, the small-car specialist. One of the main development targets was the ability to cover 100 kilometers on three liters of fuel, which has been achieved without sacrificing any power or comfort. The Storia 2CD has a lightweight body and a new two-cycle direct injection diesel engine.
