Chapter 2 in the "Story of a Joyful SUV"presented by Daihatsu
The Taruna was launched in Indonesia in July 1999. Since then, this vehicle has enjoyed tremendous popularity among Indonesian customers. The joy of owning and driving the Taruna is evident in towns, households and offices all across the nation.
For this motor show, Daihatsu has developed a concept vehicle based squarely on the allure of the Taruna. Dubbed the TX-F, this new concept vehicle inherits all the beauty of the Taruna while at the same time proposing yet another concept for a brand new type of joyful motoring life.
Designed as a joyful SUV, the TX-F features a fun-filled interior space capable of seating seven adults in comfort. It's a totally new fun vehicle based on the Taruna.
The TX-F's attractive and comfortable interior space is filled with elements that will inspire you to create a variety of joyful scenes. When you drive the TX-F, you will have a smile on your face and that smile will be shared with your loved family and friends. The TX-F is simply that kind of car.

A fresh and serene contour with a presence that adds to the vehicle's sophisticated character
In addition to possessing the refined panache that makes Taruna really stands out in town, the TX-F boasts a serene contour that gives this vehicle an extra sense of presence as well as a character that matches the joyful scenes we associate with fashionable family life.
What's more, the multi-reflector headlamps add a dash of elegance to the vehicle's facial expression.

A variety of joyful scenes start right here in this comfortable interior
The secret of the TX-F's comfortable interior is in its wheelbase, which is a full 250 mm longer than that of the Taruna.
The seats can be arranged in a number of distinct formations. In normal use, all three rows of seats face forward to seat up to seven adults in comfort. For added flexibility, the second row seat can be split into two seats that slide individually. And even greater versatility is available by folding down the third row seat to create a large luggage space for bulky items. This wide variety of seat formations gives the TX-F plenty of potential to become a catalyst for all kinds of joyful scenes.

An EFI engine, coil spring suspension and long wheelbase work in harmony to transport the occupants in perfect comfort
The TX-F combines a new 1600 cc EFI engine with the long wheelbase and the coil spring suspension employed in the Taruna. The result is an unusually serene and comfortable ride.
The TX-F is also well endowed with safety features, e.g., side-impact beams, child-safety locks, etc., making it a perfect people mover.
