An easy-to-drive and user friendly entry car that embraces huge potential in a compact body
Traffic congestion, energy and global environmental problemswhen we think about the challenges faced by today's automobile society, it's no wonder carmakers the world over are flocking to develop vehicles that address both the direct and the indirect needs of modern-day motorizationor compact cars to be exact.
Since early on, Daihatsu has been pursuing the potential of compact cars as a means of transport that can exist in harmony with society as a whole. The company slogan "We make it COMPACT" expresses Daihatsu's commitment to bring to the world compact and efficient cars that are brimming over with dreams as well as practicality.
The KX-P is yet another proposal to Indonesian Market from Daihatsu that seeks to further enhance the potential of the compact car. While maximizing the advantages of the minicar, the KX-P also delivers levels of functionality and performance comparable to those of higher-class vehicles.

A friendly styling that's rational too
The KX-P features a softly contoured exterior line that exudes a warm feeling of friendliness. The long wheelbase, which takes maximum advantage of the car's modest overall length of 3395 mm, provides a sense of firm stability. The front is dominated by a large bumper with an integrated grille and large trapezoidal lamps, which together give this car a character that's truly one of a kind. Meanwhile, the rear end is an attractive hatchback style featuring a smooth streamlined contour in both vertical and horizontal directions.

A quality interior that seats four adults in comfort
To make maximum use of the limited floor area, the KX-P's engine compartment is designed to be even more compact than that of an ordinary 2-box vehicle. The result is a comfortable interior that's much larger than you'd imagine from outside. While the KX-P is envisioned as an economy car, the ingeniously designed modern interior is capable of seating four adults in comfort. And if the need arises, there's room for a fifth occupant too. What's more, the genuine leather-upholstered seats and woodgrain-patterned interior provide a classy cabin suggestive of a luxury car.

Engine and suspensionin pursuit of fuel efficiency and riding comfort
A powerful 850 cc engine (type ED-10), the long wheelbase and four-wheel independent suspension give the KX-P a degree of riding comfort comparable with that of a higher class car. The compact body with its four wheels positioned close to the corners is easy to manoeuvre even in congested city streets and no trouble to park even where space is restricted.
In the interests of maximum passenger safety, the KX-P's crushable body and side impact beams ensure plenty of occupant protection.
